How to become a user
If you want to perform non proprietary research on Elettra or Fermi beamlines, we recommend you to follow these steps:
Contact the beamline scientist
With a clear idea of the experiment you would like to perform and having chosen the beamline/s, it is always helpful to contact the beamline staff to discuss about the feasibility of the experiment, the required equipment and number of shifts, etc. before writing a proposal.
If you need advice to choose the most suitable beamline for your experiment, you can to us describing your expeiment.

Create a new user ID
Register in our Virtual Unified Office.

Prepare your proposal
Submit a proposal through the VUO.
