Access to Lasers4EU laboratories:

Lasers4EU offers unique research opportunities to scientists from all over Europe and to a limited extent also to scientists from outside Europe. Access is granted on the basis of scientific excellence of the proposal, reviewed by an external and independent Selection Panel. Access is provided free of charge, including partial support to travel and accommodation for all trans-national users.
Details about the proposal submission procedure can be found on the Lasers4EU web page.
Within Lasers4EU, Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste offers access to the XUV free-electron laser FERMI (https://www.elettra.trieste.it/lightsources/fermi.html).

Please, check your eligibility here

A maximum of two users per experiment are eligible to receive travel and accommodation support, which includes breakfast but excludes other meals. Each supported user can be reimbursed up to a maximum of €900.
PLEASE NOTE: If one or more students (subject to confirmation by the PI) are involved in the beamtime, a total amount of €2,500 may be allocated to the group. This support reflects our laboratory's commitment to encouraging student participation in experiments.

All Users coming to the Laboratory must send their Access Requests through the Virtual User Office (VUO: https://vuo.elettra.trieste.it/), at least one month before the experiment.
In the Access Request Form, Users wishing to take advantage of the support must choose “Funded User” in the “User Type” scroll down menu and fill in the form with all the necessary information concerning the trip.
