Laura Pomicino

As part of the activities promoted by the Gender Equality Team, we invite you to watch a short video made with psychologist and psychotherapist Laura Pomicino (consultant to our company, who can be contacted at the following email address: progettoequality25@gmail.com), which introduces the initiatives she will be proposing in the near future to explore and address the issue of gender equality in the workplace.
The video represents the start of a participatory process, open to everyone on a voluntary basis, with the aim of promoting an increasingly inclusive environment that is aware of and respectful of differences.
You will soon be invited to participate in the first activities, designed to offer opportunities for discussion, listening, and shared growth.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated annually on February 11th to promote gender equality in the field of science and technology. This day highlights the critical role that women and girls play in science and technology and aims to inspire and encourage more girls and women to pursue careers in these fields.
Gender bias and discrimination have been pervasive in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields, which has resulted in a significant gender gap in these areas. Despite the progress made in recent years, women and girls are still underrepresented in STEM-related jobs, with only 28% of researchers being women.
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science seeks to address this gender imbalance and encourages women and girls to pursue careers in STEM fields. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of women's contribution to science and technology and the need to promote gender equality in these fields.
The celebration of this day involves various activities such as conferences, workshops, and talks. It provides a platform for women scientists to share their experiences and challenges and inspire young girls to consider careers in STEM fields.

In 2023, the women of Elettra took part in a photography project (viewable here) to raise the community's awareness of the issue.
