- In linear polarization the FEL energy per pulse at the source is reduced by about a factor 2; further information can be found here.
- It is not possible to use both FEL-1 and FEL-2 sources during the same beamtime, nor to use the full wavelength range of a given FEL source; further information can be found here.
- FEL performance requests exceeding the standard conditions may affect the risk evaluation, a preliminary discussion with the FERMI staff is recommended.
- Special configurations (double wavelengths, double pulses, ultra-short pulses, etc.) are available; further information can be found here. Their request may affect the risk evaluation, a preliminary discussion with the FERMI staff is recommended.
- Filters are required to remove unwanted radiation (seed laser, FEL harmonics, etc.); typical filter transmissions are shown here.
- The maximum beamline transmission requires using optimal mirror coatings. Their selection must be discussed with the beamline coordinators, being multiple coatings available; further information can be found here.
- The TIMER beamline has a special photon transport with different transmission values.
- The MagneDyn beamline is available only on FEL2.
- A split-and-delay device (AC/DC) is available at the TIMEX, DiProI and LDM beamlines. When this device is used, the beamline transmission is reduced; further information can be found here.
- All experimental end-stations are equipped with an optical laser for pump-probe; further information can be found here.
