Tips and Troubleshooting
- Drivers: Always make sure you have the latest drivers installed from the Kyocera website for macOS.
- Connection: If you do not see the Kyocera Print Panel option, you may need to reconfigure the printer with the correct drivers.
- Forgotten PIN: If you forget the PIN, the job cannot be retrieved, so be sure to note it down.
Additional Considerations
-
Driver Compatibility: Always make sure you have the latest version of the Kyocera printer driver installed. After updating macOS, you may need to reinstall the drivers.
-
Job Box Management: The Kyocera TASKalfa has a limit on how many jobs can be stored in the Job Box. Be sure to delete unnecessary private jobs to avoid filling up the Job Box.
-
PIN Consistency: Use a secure and memorable PIN. Avoid common combinations like "0000" or "1234."
-
Private Job Timeout: Some Kyocera printers automatically delete private jobs from the Job Box after a certain time. Check with your IT administrator if there is a timeout set for the private print queue.
-
Troubleshooting Printing Issues: If you encounter printing problems, restart both your Mac and the printer. Also, check for any hardware issues, such as low paper or toner.
-
Privacy and Security
If you are using a shared printer in an office or public environment:- Be sure to retrieve private print jobs promptly after releasing them to prevent others from viewing them.
- If you need to send particularly sensitive documents, check with your IT administrator to see if there are additional security policies in place to protect your privacy.
